EDILON TRD
The EDILON Tuned Rail Damper (EDILON TRD is a specially developed polymer-steel composite absorber of rail vibrations in the mid- and high-frequency range (40-400 and 400-1500 Hz). The EDILON TRD is glued in the webs of the rail at both sides by means of EDILON Tuned Rail Damper Adhesive.
The EDILON TRD is used for absorption of rail vibrations, which may have a structural, operational or maintenance origin (e.g. dynamic track design or uniform train speed in combination with rail corrugations). The EDILON TRD reduces rail vibration levels in particular around 1000 Hz. The EDILON TRD can be used on many different rail types, i.e. 60E1, 54E1 and 49E1.
The EDILON TRD is characterised by:
- Installation on most common rail types
- No interference with rail clips (sufficient space on rail foot)
- No interference with track maintenance machines (sufficient space under rail head)
- No interference with signalling and communication systems
- Unit weight of 5 kg, unit length of 60 cm
- Good vibration absorption performance under different temperature conditions
- Durable, UV-resistant and water repellent seal
- Possibility of removal in case of later access of the rail
- At least 25 years of good performance, including good adherence to rail
